Vertical Comics is publishing oversized Deluxe Editions of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin, each volume compiling two original volumes into a single hardcover. Deluxe 1, an 880-page hardcover that collects Activation and Garma, released August 12 and is discounted from $55 to $31 on Amazon. Deluxe 2 released October 7 and is currently discounted as well. Six oversized hardcovers will complete the 12-volume arc, with one new Deluxe Edition scheduled every two months through next June. Deluxe 3–6 are available for preorder with Amazon's preorder price guarantee protecting buyers from price drops. The story follows Amuro Ray, the RX-78 Gundam, the Earth Federation, the Principality of Zeon, and the emergence of Newtypes.
