"The Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers will kick off the World Series this Friday at the Rogers Centre, with Toronto earning the home-field advantage thanks to their 94-68 record, the top billing in the American League. The Blue Jays are fresh off winning Game 7 over the Seattle Mariners this past weekend, while the Dodgers haven't played since sweeping the Milwaukee Brewers back on Friday, October 17th. This will be a full week off for Dave Roberts and his crew, who will be looking to earn another championship after winning it all last season."
"Per the MLB social media page, Roberts and the Dodgers have already announced who will be starting in Games 1 and 2 this upcoming weekend. Left-hander Blake Snell will toe the rubber to kick off the Friday night contest, and right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto will be tasked with starting Game 2 of the World Series on Saturday. Snell has been one of the most dominant pitchers this postseason, making three starts and compiling a 0.86 ERA through 21 innings pitched. The southpaw has struck out 28 batters and allowed just six hits, five walks, and two earned runs while winning all three of his games. Both of the earned runs came in his first postseason outing against the Cincinnati Reds back on September 30th. Against both the Phillies and Brewers, he allowed just one hit in both contests and struck out nine and ten batters, respectively, while going 14 innings combined. In his latest outing against the Brew Crew, he went eight strong, allowing zero walks and just one hit in the masterful performance."
