Blake Snell labored in Game 1 at Rogers Centre, giving up eight hits, five runs and three walks while striking out four over five-plus innings. Snell lacked fastball command and exited with the bases loaded; all three runners scored while Emmet Sheehan was on the mound. The Dodgers lost Game 1, won Game 2, and now face elimination unless they win Game 6 at Rogers Centre. Yoshinobu Yamamoto will start Game 6, and Snell could have an opportunity to pitch again if the series reaches Game 7.
