These Are the Islands to Visit for an Authentic Greek Getaway

Pro tip: Traveling between Greece's islands is quite easy, thanks to the country's ferry system - no flights required. Simply check out the map to see which islands are serviced by Seajets , and be sure to book your tickets in advance. While splurging for the premium tier isn't necessarily worth it, we recommend spending the extra few dollars to book in business versus economy, as these seats are larger, more comfortable and almost always located in a quieter part of the boat.

Hop on the boat and wake up in Spain': readers' favourite ferry breaks from the UK

The overnight ferry from Portsmouth to Saint-Malo is hard to beat. After work, we board the ship, enjoy a drink in the bar and wake up to the sunrise over the harbour. The scenic coastal path that runs along the Brittany coast winds through woodlands and secluded coves. A swim in the clear water and then on to the restaurant La Guinguette des Marmouz near Plouer-sur-Rance. The best chips we've ever had in a very laid-back spot along the estuary.

I spent $279 for a first-class ferry across Lake Michigan. I got so seasick that I enjoyed none of the perks.

Seasickness can ruin travel experiences, even on shorter ferry rides like Lake Express across Lake Michigan.
