AC Milan management is actively working to renew Mike Maignan's contract, which expires at the end of the season. Maignan was unhappy with earlier negotiations when a verbal agreement was believed to have been withdrawn. Milan want an answer by February and are willing to offer €7m net per year (bonuses included) to convince their captain to stay. Sporting director Igli Tare and coach Massimiliano Allegri are making a serious attempt after a small opening from the goalkeeper. Maignan is described as happy at Milan and adored by the club, but the agreement still needs finalisation.
