Amtrak has introduced the "Mardi Gras Service," a new train route connecting Mobile, Alabama, to New Orleans with stops in Biloxi, Gulfport, and Pascagoula, Mississippi. Operating twice daily, this service targets summer travelers, offering the opportunity to experience the vibrant cultural tapestry of the Gulf Coast. The route provides access to major cities beyond New Orleans, such as Chicago and New York, while promoting exploration of lesser-known destinations like Dauphin Island, famed for its beautiful beaches, and Pascagoula, lauded as the "Secret Coast" and an underrated getaway, featuring nature trails and coastal beauty.
The new service will operate twice daily and will be known as the "Amtrak Mardi Gras Service," launching in summer to connect Mobile, Alabama, with New Orleans.
