Elon Musk's Tesla reports first-ever annual decline in revenue

Tesla reported a 3 percent year-on-year revenue decline to $24.9bn in Q4 2025 and full-year revenue of $94.8bn, down from $97.7bn. Net profit fell 61 percent to $840m in the quarter, leaving full-year profit at $3.8bn, down from $7.1bn in 2024. The company agreed to invest $2bn in AI start-up xAI, developer of the Grok chatbot, and established a framework to deploy AI products and services into the physical world to lessen reliance on auto sales. Tesla shares rose about 2.2 percent in after-hours trading. Meta and Microsoft reported strong quarterly profits, with AI driving growth.
