"I studied cognitive science and continental philosophy at Penn. I realized quickly that the questions I cared about most—what it feels like to process reality, what it means to be alive—couldn't be held by those frameworks. They're just tools at the end of the day. I think art is the only thing capable of holding the 'what it is.'"
Jet Le Parti, a self-taught artist with a background in philosophy and neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania, has deliberately avoided traditional gallery representation to maintain complete control over his work. He founded Base 36 in 2020, an indie creative platform introducing multidisciplinary artists to broader audiences without gallery intermediaries. This was followed by Relaispunkt (RP.1), a collaborative gallery and label spanning visual art, sound, and experimental practices. His latest venture, Sibyl, operates as a centralized cultural platform, private collection, and research-led advisory based on his existing artist network. Sibyl recently announced expansion to the Gulf region. Le Parti's transition from academic study to art-making stemmed from recognizing that philosophical and cognitive frameworks couldn't adequately address his core questions about processing reality and existence.
