London's Vagina Museum halts US sales over Trump's trade tariffs
"Our online shop raises funds for the museum, and we have customers all over the world who want to support us from afar by purchasing body-positive, feminist products. We're sad that it's become untenable to ship to the US due to tariffs, making these small purchases of treats prohibitively expensive for us as a charity, and for our friends across the pond. While US sales made up a small fraction of our online sales, these sales will be missed nonetheless. Like many other small businesses, we've found that the only way of resolving the issue with recently imposed tariffs on small parcels is that we have no option but to suspend US shipping."
"These changes have directly impacted the cost and logistics of shipping our products to the US. As a result, we've made the difficult decision to pause all orders from the US. It will be reviewed at the end of October."
The Vagina Museum in Bethnal Green, London, has paused shipping souvenirs to the United States due to a newly imposed 10% US baseline tariff. The museum’s online shop raises funds by selling postcards, magnets, tea towels and other body-positive, feminist products to customers worldwide. US customers represented a small fraction of online sales, but the tariffs have made small purchases prohibitively expensive for the charity and for US buyers. The suspension of US orders will be reviewed at the end of October. The museum remains open to visitors and continues to sell to other national and international markets.
