Briefly

Janet Ronacher, founder of the Columbia Basin Basketry Guild, specialized in using recycled materials for her weaving. Following her passing, guild members will honor her legacy with an exhibit titled 'Coming Around Again: Columbia Basin Basketry Guild: Weaving with Recycled Materials.' The exhibit opens July 18 at the PJ Chessman Gallery, showcasing Ronacher's innovative techniques, including fusing plastic bags. Guild members highlight Ronacher's ability to transform mundane materials into joyful, expressive art, emphasizing her impact on sustainable art practices.
Janet was a prolific weaver and artist, and she wove in all sorts of different mediums, but recycled materials were her baby. She was amazing.
