The Atlanta Braves are facing challenges this season, but there is hope as Jurickson Profar is nearing his return from suspension and made a rehab appearance. In a recent game, the Gwinnett Stripers fell to the Charlotte Knights, where Brooks Baldwin excelled against Nathan Wiles, hitting two home runs. Wiles struggled with his cutter, a crucial pitch for him, while Jhancarlos Lara performed better than expected, showcasing improvement on his slider despite inconsistency.
Baldwin had two home runs and a double against Wiles by himself, accounting for a majority of the damage and the runs scored for Charlotte.
Wiles is heavily reliant on his cutter as the out pitch and if it is off he is going to really struggle to get outs consistently.
His fastball velocity was a bit close in line with his norms... averaging below 92 mph in both games.
Jhancarlos Lara had the most impressive day from the pitching staff, throwing an efficient inning with a couple of strikeouts which he sorely needed.
