Bayern legend Muller joins Vancouver Whitecaps

Thomas Müller has completed his transfer to the Vancouver Whitecaps from Bayern Munich. The Whitecaps secured Müller by negotiating with FC Cincinnati for his discovery rights at a cost of up to $400,000 in general allocation money. Cincinnati had the exclusive rights to negotiate with Müller but he declined their offer. Currently, the Whitecaps have an impressive record in the MLS and are looking to make a strong playoff push after recent success, including reaching the Concacaf Champions Cup final.
Thomas Müller completed his move to the Vancouver Whitecaps, marking the end of his career in the Bundesliga where he made 756 appearances and scored 250 goals.
To sign Müller, the Whitecaps dealt with FC Cincinnati to secure the player’s discovery rights for up to $400,000 in general allocation money.
Müller declined an offer from Cincinnati after they held exclusive negotiation rights, allowing the Whitecaps to acquire him for the ongoing MLS season.
The Vancouver Whitecaps are currently in second place in the Western Conference and recently reached the Concacaf Champions Cup final, aiming for playoff success.
