In pictures: highlights from Art Basel's city-wide exhibition, Parcours
Briefly

The Art Basel Parcours exhibition showcases 21 unique artworks across Basel, curated by Stefanie Hessler. Various installations, including Agnieszka Kurant's 'chemical gardens' and Finnegan Shannon's accessibility-focused benches, invite visitors to explore unconventional locations like hotels and private apartments. This year highlights include Fiona Banner's piece on a bridge and a work in Münsterplatz. The projects aim to engage with the urban landscape, prompting reflection on art's relationship with space and accessibility, pushing boundaries of where and how art can be experienced.
I've done so many Basel site visits now, I feel I really know the city, says the New York-based curator Stefanie Hessler, who takes charge of Art Basel's Parcours exhibition for the second time.
Each time there's a new artist's project, we're finding additional places that are responsive to and correspond in an interesting way, because they amplify or mirror or contrast with the artist's work.
Finnegan Shannon's work is about accessibility, thinking about how to go beyond legal requirements and make gestures of generosity.
These benches offer moments of rest to visitors. They are installed in different locations alongside the route of Parcours.
