Cane Creek HCR Internally Routed Stem & Headset Spotted at MADE on Bingham Built
"But in the Paragon Machine Works booth there was a beautiful Bingham Built titanium all-road bike that has what looks to be a brand new stem and headset combination from Cane Creek. Built using a new prototype 52/52 head tube from Paragon, the road bike also offers internal cable routing through the stem and headset. It looks like Cane Creek is calling this the HCR, and it includes a very clean stem that pairs with the headset top cap to provide internal routing."
"The bottom of the stem features a recessed cavity with the brake hoses tucking into the top of the headset. From the looks of things, this would allow for you to remove and swap the stem from the bike without having to mess with the brake hoses, but still offers that clean through-the-stem routing look. The rest of the bike includes new frame parts from Paragon along with the headtube including the rear dropouts and bottom bracket."
A Bingham Built titanium all-road bike at the Paragon Machine Works booth featured a new stem and headset combination from Cane Creek. The build used a prototype 52/52 head tube from Paragon and includes internal cable routing through the stem and headset. Cane Creek calls the system the HCR and pairs a clean stem with a headset top cap to enable routing. The stem bottom has a recessed cavity that tucks brake hoses into the top of the headset. That design allows stem removal and swapping without disturbing brake hoses while preserving a through-the-stem routing appearance. The bike also includes new Paragon frame parts, rear dropouts, and bottom bracket.
