Wove Saddles Get Metal Rail Option for Lower Price & Increased Durability
"Wove Saddles is well known for ultra-light carbon fiber saddles like the Mags (reviewed here). We loved the Mags, the comfort, the easy setup, and the weight. One thing, however, we didn't like was the cost, a whopping $500. Yes - you get super cutting-edge tech/premium material, and the saddle is top of the line, but $500 is a lot of scratch."
"Most high-end performance saddles lean on carbon rails for minimal weight and stiffness. While that makes sense for riders chasing every gram, durability sometimes isn't there. By switching to steel or similarly high-strength metal alloys for the rails, the saddle gains meaningful durability without relying on oversized shapes or overly stiff construction. The construction of the Wove saddles is nearly the same, but instead of the molded carbon rails to the shell, solid steel rails will slot in."
Wove, known for ultra-light carbon-fiber saddles, is expanding its lineup with metal-railed (full steel) versions of core designs including the M8, Mags, and V8. Metal-railed Mags are hinted near $310 USD at roughly 210 g, while a metal-railed V8 is hinted near $320 USD and around 265 g. Metal rails trade a small weight penalty for meaningful durability compared with carbon rails. Construction remains largely unchanged, with solid steel rails slotting into the shell and slightly longer-than-standard rails preserving ample fore-and-aft adjustability and engineered, predictable flex.
