Here's what readers thought about MBTA service during the snowstorm
"Our driver was a rockstar! Handled the ice/snow/slush easily and avoided collisions with inexperienced drivers and inattentive pedestrians with ease."
"The MBTA thanks its frontline workforce for its exceptional work over the past couple of days to keep riders safe and the system moving, even through the intense weather conditions,"
"We appreciate our riders' patience during any of the delays they may have experienced."
Nearly two feet of snow buried Boston, yet many commuters still used the MBTA, which ran almost normal service during the storm. Buses followed normal weekend schedules on Sunday and normal weekday schedules on Monday, with dozens operating on snow routes to avoid steep hills, tight corners, and narrow streets. Commuter Rail operated on reduced storm schedules, providing about a third of regular weekend service across lines. Train service continued but Green Line branches faced delays from cars stuck on tracks, while Blue Line construction was accelerated to restore service before the storm. Rider reactions were mixed, with commuter rail cancellations and hour-long delays reported.
