Luke Kirby, known for his role as Lenny Bruce in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, returns to the screen in the new Prime Video series Étoile as Jack McMillan, the director of the fictional Metropolitan Ballet Theater. In a bid to boost ticket sales, Jack makes a risky trade involving his top dancers with a French ballet company. Co-created by Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, Étoile blends sharp humor, whimsical characters, and stunning dance performances, while focusing on the passionate efforts to preserve the art of ballet.
The world of ballet is - as with all art forms, there's the threat of people taking this thing very, very seriously.
In a last-ditch attempt to spark ticket sales, Jack agrees to trade his company's biggest stars with France's Le Ballet National.
