New Bruin forward Mikey Eyssimont ready to get to work
""I take a lot of pride in it," said Eyssimont. "It's a big part of my game. And it's not just grit and tenacity that gives me that kind of reputation. It's the skill that I play with that is a pain the ass, the plays that I make are a pain in the ass. Obviously, there are times when I get under a player's skin but a lot of times that, if you watch the film, it's because of the plays that I made and being on guys, turning pucks over and knowing how to play.""
""pain in the ass""
The Boston Bruins signed 29-year-old Mikey Eyssimont to a two-year deal worth $1.45 million per season to add a hard-to-play-against element. Eyssimont combines physical tenacity with puck skills that create turnovers and pressure on opponents. The signing joins other edge players brought in to restore the team's competitive identity. Eyssimont advanced through St. Cloud State and multiple AHL seasons with Ontario and Manitoba before earning spots with Winnipeg, San Jose, Tampa Bay and Seattle. His most productive year was 2023-24 with Tampa Bay, posting an 11-14-25 line, and he credits tough AHL experience for his work ethic.
