Celtics reportedly 'very happy' with work Jayson Tatum has put in this offseason
"He did not leave town,"
"He has been here the entire time."
"[Mazzulla] said [Tatum] is taking trips. He'll go away to a certain island or something,"
"I looked at Joe and said, 'He's going to be back by the end of the year,'"
Jayson Tatum remained in Boston for nearly the entire offseason while rehabbing a torn Achilles suffered in May. The Celtics expressed that they are very happy with the work Tatum has put in during rehab. Tatum voluntarily stayed in the area and took occasional short weekend trips where he continued workouts before returning to the facility. Coach Joe Mazzulla declined to set a timeline for a return. Most recent Achilles tears have sidelined players about a year, while Tatum's father suggested an optimistic eight-to-nine-month return around the All-Star break. Tatum has posted sporadic rehab workout footage.
