The team has documented his progress through practice photos showing him dunking and driving to the basket. Tatum first posted dunking videos in October 2025, five months after the injury. Despite the accelerated recovery timeline from what was initially considered potentially career-ending, Tatum has not disclosed a specific return date, stating he takes recovery one day at a time. The Celtics will not clear him for game action until Tatum personally indicates readiness.
