A 64-year-old man, Jeffrey Taylor, has been arrested in connection with the unsolved 1986 murder of Shirley Brant, a Florida real estate broker. This breakthrough occurred after fingerprint evidence, previously overlooked, was matched to Taylor during a 2023 cold case review. Brant was shot during an attempted robbery in her office, and the case remained unsolved for nearly four decades. Her family expressed immense gratitude towards the detectives who dedicated countless hours to solve the case, which has deeply affected the community and Brant's loved ones.
Taylor was identified and arrested after a fingerprint that previously didn't meet the criteria for evidence was recovered from the crime scene, North Miami Beach Police Chief Juan Pinillos said.
