Boston will officially open the 2026 season March 26 in Cincinnati. A spring-training game against Toronto presented a likely Opening Day order: Roman Anthony (DH/leadoff), Trevor Story (SS, No. 2), Jarren Duran (LF), Willson Contreras (1B), Wilyer Abreu (RF), Caleb Durbin (3B), Ceddanne Rafaela (CF), Carlos Narváez (C) and Isiah Kiner-Falefa (2B). Anthony was announced as the leadoff hitter after batting leadoff in 27 of his final 32 games before a season-ending oblique injury in September 2025, hitting .336 with six homers, 17 RBIs and a 1.003 OPS in that stretch. Story hit .263 with 25 home runs and 96 RBI last season and provides power to drive in leadoff runners.
