Luken Baker, who briefly elected free agency, re-signed with the Diamondbacks and will return to Triple-A Reno. He played nine games early in the season, batting .242. The Diamondbacks have seen strong production from Ildemaro Vargas and rookie Jose Fernandez at first base and designated hitter since Carlos Santana's injury.
