Kyle Teel, a former Boston Red Sox catcher, is currently excelling in Triple-A for the Charlotte Knights, reaching base in 35 of his last 36 games with a commendable batting average and impressive on-base percentage. After being traded to Chicago in December as part of a deal for Garrett Crochet, Teel expressed his initial shock at the trade but has embraced the opportunity. Despite his strong performance, it's uncertain if he'll be called up to the MLB soon, particularly as the struggling White Sox evaluate their roster amid a tough season.
Teel was part of the trade package that helped the Red Sox acquire Garrett Crochet from the Chicago White Sox in December.
At first, it was a complete shock, just because I didn't see it coming," Teel said during an appearance on 670 The Score's "Bernstein & Harris Show."
Teel has a 2.89 batting average with an .885 on-base percentage with eight home runs and 29 RBI this season.
It's unclear if Chicago, who's 18-40 going into Sunday's game against the Baltimore Orioles, has plans to make Teel part of its team in the near future.
