Sandy Brondello coached the New York Liberty for four seasons, compiling 107 wins, capturing the Commissioner's Cup, reaching consecutive WNBA Finals, and winning the franchise's first league championship. Brondello became the Liberty's winningest coach from 2022-25 and was dismissed after a first-round playoff exit. She was hired as head coach of the expansion Toronto Tempo, the league's first international franchise, and expressed enthusiasm for building a Canadian team. The 2026 WNBA schedule lists Toronto at Brooklyn on June 3, with the season slated to open May 8 and New York entering its 30th season under new coach Chris DeMarco.
