""It's unacceptable. It's really insane to me how they could just release somebody after they did that,""
""What was going through my head was like, I'm just not going to see my family again. That was it, I was just not gonna see my family,""
""About the guys that stepped in, I'm very, very, very thankful because without them, I would not be home.""
Fredrick Marshall, 42, was arrested after being accused of grabbing and bear-hugging a 20-year-old woman on the Manhattan-bound J train platform at Norwood Avenue in Cypress Hills on June 29. Video of the daytime assault went viral on TikTok, drawing millions of views and showing bystanders beating Marshall while the victim fled. Marshall appeared briefly in Brooklyn Criminal Court and remained free on supervised release because the charges, including third-degree assault, were not bail-eligible. The victim said she feared she would not see her family again and expressed deep gratitude to the people who intervened. Marshall's next court date is October 10.
