A capstone to that celebration takes place Wednesday evening, Jan. 28, at the Rotunda of the New York County Supreme Courthouse on Centre Street. The New York City Office for the Prevention of Hate Crimes, partnering with the Muslim Community Network, will honor the myriad cultural and historical contributions of Muslim New Yorkers."
"The Office for the Prevention of Hate Crimes leads the city's coordinated, community-centered approach to preventing hate crimes and bias-based incidents, coordinating with an interagency committee of more than 20 city agencies and all five district attorneys' hate crimes units, and also supports healing programs for victims and their affected neighborhoods. The Manhattan-based Muslim Community Network offers programs in education and advocacy, interfaith partnerships, community service and empowering youth. They serve more than 2,400 meals annually and 2,000-plus Iftars during Ramadan."
