Arrest made in killing of East Bay man found dead off Napa County highway
"A 22-year-old man was arrested Monday on suspicion of killing a Concord man who was found dead Sunday off a Napa County highway, authorities said. The arrest took place a day after Napa sheriff's deputies found the body of Salvador De Jesus Castillo-Hernandez, 20, with multiple gunshot wounds, the agency said in a news release Monday night. About 9:40 a.m. Sunday, a driver on Monticello Road spotted Castillo-Hernandez lying unresponsive and called 911."
"He was pronounced dead at the scene, in the 2600 block of Monticello Road, and identified Monday by the sheriff's office. About 2 p.m. Monday, Napa County sheriff's deputies arrested Bryan Gomez of Vallejo in Napa on suspicion of murder. He was booked into the Napa County jail and is being held without bail. The sheriff's office did not say what connected Gomez to the killing or how authorities located him."
Salvador De Jesus Castillo-Hernandez, 20, of Concord, was found unresponsive Sunday morning in the 2600 block of Monticello Road in Napa County and suffered multiple gunshot wounds. A driver discovered him about 9:40 a.m.; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Napa County sheriff's deputies identified Castillo-Hernandez Monday. Around 2 p.m. Monday, deputies arrested 22-year-old Bryan Gomez of Vallejo on suspicion of murder; he was booked into the Napa County jail and is being held without bail. Investigators continue to determine where and when the shooting occurred and the motive and have not disclosed how Gomez was connected to the killing.
