The California Post will launch early next year, with a daily print newspaper, a new website, and a Los Angeles-based team of reporters, editors and photographers.

News Corp CEO Robert Thomson stated that California's new outlet would serve as an "antidote to the jaundiced, jaded journalism that has sadly proliferated."
Thomson remarked, "There is no doubt that The Post will play a crucial role in engaging and enlightening readers, who are starved of serious reporting and puckish wit."
