
"OAKLAND - Human remains that apparently had been dismembered were found Sunday morning in East Oakland and the death is being investigated as a homicide, authorities said. An autopsy will determine if the remains are those of a man or woman and how they died. The remains were found about 10:06 a.m. Sunday outside in the 9700 block of San Leandro Street. Police said the remains appeared to be in a state of decomposition and dismemberment."
"No other information has been released. The death is the ninth homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. Last year at this time police had investigated 13 homicides in the city.
