"Luis Briseno won $10 million from a winning Royal Riches scratcher bought at Fruitvale Bottles & Liquor at 3715 International Blvd. in Oakland, the lottery said Friday. That's the largest recent jackpot in the state since June, when an unnamed winner scored a $10 million win from a scratcher bought in Barley Bin Liquor in Whittier, and Steven Muhlestein won a $10 million Super Bonus in May from a scratcher sold at Vintage Wine Shoppe & Liquor in Concord."
"Another winner, Catalina Velasco, emerged with a $5 million prize this weekend after buying a Double the Luck scratcher from Arco am/pm at 43500 Grimmer Blvd. in Fremont, the lottery said Friday. When winners last week raked in the $1.8 billion Powerball jackpot prize, two Californians earned $1.5 million each after guessing the five white ball numbers on tickets sold at Love's Travel Shop in Tehachapi and Circle K in Dublin."
Two East Bay scratcher players won a combined $15 million in jackpots this week. Luis Briseno won $10 million on a Royal Riches scratcher purchased at Fruitvale Bottles & Liquor in Oakland. Catalina Velasco won $5 million from a Double the Luck scratcher bought at an Arco am/pm in Fremont. California saw other recent large scratcher wins earlier this year, including $10 million prizes in Whittier and Concord. Two Californians also earned $1.5 million each by matching five white balls in last week's Powerball draw. Upcoming drawings include a $50 million Powerball and a Mega Millions jackpot up to $400 million.
