"Those booms, those loud booms felt really intimidating, so yeah- it was pumping up my heart- it was scary,"
"I guess we're just thinking about how many more of these fires are going to be going around,"
"It's scary, you know, if somebody is willing to do this, at this extremity, like what are they going to do next?"
San Jose Fire Department is investigating 24 vehicle fires occurring between December 18 and January 27. Eleven additional vehicles were set on fire overnight Tuesday across five locations, with six ignited in the driveway of Adem's Test Only and Willow Glen Auto Electric near Almaden Road and Highway 87. Surveillance video reportedly shows a man dismounting a bicycle and lighting cars, and nearby repair shop cameras captured a bicyclist minutes before the blaze. Residents reported loud bangs, fear of escalation, and at least one person lost a primary vehicle days before Christmas. San Jose Police are assisting while the fire department's arson unit leads the investigation.
