
"A teen and four adults have been charged by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) for what police say was a "fabricated" carjacking report in Caledon, Ont., last week. Caledon OPP received reports of a carjacking near Old School Road and Heritage Road on Sept. 9, according to an OPP news release. Police said the complainant alleged their vehicle was stolen by force by four suspects, two of whom had guns."
"But the investigation revealed the complainant had "fabricated" the carjacking report with four other people as part of a fraud scheme, police said. Police said five people have now been charged and arrested. They include a 17-year-old from Brampton, a 22-year-old from Brampton and a 21-year-old from Caledon, who have all been charged with fraud over $5,000."

A 17-year-old from Brampton, a 22-year-old from Brampton and a 21-year-old from Caledon were charged with fraud over $5,000. Two 21-year-olds were charged with public mischief, obstructing a peace officer and fraud over $5,000. The suspects are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
