""Our top priority is supporting students," Koptie said, adding that a member of the school's social work team was made available to students to check in with them and provide support."
A teacher at Corvette Junior Public School in Toronto showed Grades 5 and 6 students a portion of a violent video connected to the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk. The footage was shown once after students asked the teacher about a recent tragic event in the United States. The teacher was supervising the class and was not the homeroom teacher. The teacher has been relieved of all teaching responsibilities and is not at the school while an investigation proceeds. A member of the school's social work team was made available to students for support. Charlie Kirk was fatally shot in Orem, Utah while speaking at an outdoor campus gathering.
