Iveco Bus has delivered 110 Crossway Low Entry Elec to De Lijn's operators in Belgium - Sustainable Bus
"The Crossway Low Entry Elec, launched already in 2023 (and followed in late 2024 by the normal floor version), features 485-kWh battery supporting CCS2 charging for a stated range of up to 400 km. The bus can carry up to 45 seated and over 70 standing passengers. It's produced in Vysoké Mýto, Czech Republic, where in 2024 as many as 5,000 vehicles were produced, 92 percent of which were Crossways: 57 out of every 100 were produced in the Normal Floor version, with the remaining 43 in the Low Entry version."
"Iveco Bus has delivered 110 Crossway Low Entry Elec buses to operators working for De Lijn, in Flanders (Belgium). The vehicles will be operated by private companies under contract. In late June, the same De Lijn has confirmed an order for 100 Iveco city electric buses E-Way, as part of an existing framework agreement signed in 2023, an addition to the 141 E-Way 18-meter buses currently being delivered. The same operator has recently been rolling out a first batch of BYD e-buses sourced from the same framework deal."
"The remaining 8 percent of the plant's production is accounted for by the Evadys tourist family. A look at the share of traction technologies: 70 percent of the buses manufactured in Vysoké Mýto are diesel-powered, 25 are CNG-powered (including mild hybrid variants), and 5 percent are battery-powered, clearly on the rise. "We are proud that the Crossway Low Entry Elec is playing a central role in Flanders' sustainable transport transition. The delivery of these 110 vehicles confirms our commitment to providing reliable, innovative, and sustainable mobility solutions," said Paul Mechele, Sales Manager at Iveco Bus for the Benelux."
Iveco Bus delivered 110 Crossway Low Entry Elec buses for De Lijn services in Flanders to be operated by private contractors, and De Lijn confirmed a further order for 100 Iveco E-Way city electric buses under a 2023 framework, supplementing 141 E-Way 18-metre buses already being delivered and an initial batch of BYD e-buses from the same deal. The Crossway Low Entry Elec has a 485-kWh battery, CCS2 charging and a stated range up to 400 km, with capacity for up to 45 seated and over 70 standing passengers. Production is concentrated in Vysoké Mýto, where 2024 output reached about 5,000 vehicles and traction mix showed growing battery-electric share.
