These Are The Most Reliable EV Charging Networks, According To EV Drivers
"Tesla Superchargers are the most reliable public chargers, according to a new survey of EV owners. That's no surprise, as the brand's chargers are famously the most trustworthy and consistent options for EV drivers. All of the big charging providers did better in the real world than consumers expect, suggesting that chargers are more reliable than consumers realize. In just the two years I've been working here, I've seen America's public charging infrastructure improve dramatically."
"Not only have I seen way more stalls pop up around my part of San Diego, I've also seen charge-point operators replace old, unreliable stations with new, much more dependable ones. But as a new survey from Escalent shows, some still have more work to do. In a survey of 209 EV drivers, Escalent asked owners about charging network reliability."
A survey of 209 EV drivers asked owners to rate expected and experienced reliability of charging networks on a 1–5 scale. Tesla Superchargers rank highest for reliability, offering ubiquitous, seamless plug-and-play charging, especially for Tesla vehicles. Overall satisfaction is high: 45% of respondents rated public charger reliability 5/5, 29% rated 4/5, and only 2% rated 1/5. All major charging providers performed better in direct experience than consumer expectations, suggesting chargers are more reliable than consumers realize. Public charging infrastructure has improved with more stalls and operators replacing old, unreliable stations, though results may be skewed because 51% of respondents drive Teslas.
