During the 2025 Desert Storm Shootout, a speedboat attempting to break a speed record of 206 mph crashed spectacularly, flying into the air at over 200 mph before flipping multiple times. Onlookers captured the incident on video, revealing the boat's dramatic flight and subsequent crash into the lake. Thankfully, both drivers, using pseudonyms John Wayne and Clint Eastwood, survived with minor injuries. Windy conditions may have contributed to the crash but possibly saved the drivers' lives due to the boat's design, according to observers.
Miraculously, both drivers survived the crash with minor injuries. Fellow competitor Jeff Clark noted, 'My heart dropped when I saw that boat get airborne.'
Ray Lee from Speedboat Magazine mentioned, 'Best-case scenario, because of the wind, when the boat cut it, it held it up there longer.'
