Bears Pro Bowl CB Johnson (groin) placed on IR
"CHICAGO -- Chicago Bears Pro Bowl cornerback Jaylon Johnson was placed on injured reserve Saturday where he will be sidelined for a minimum of four games. Johnson, 26, dealt with a groin injury this summer that forced him to miss all of training camp, the preseason and Chicago's season opener against Minnesota. He returned in Week 2 at Detroit but exited the game in the second quarter after breaking up a pass."
"He was ruled out for the remainder of the game with a groin injury, but Bears coach Ben Johnson said that Jaylon Johnson is dealing with an additional injury. The Bears coach said Friday that the team was still working through options for the cornerback's recovery and that Jaylon Johnson had sought additional medical opinions this week."
Jaylon Johnson, a Pro Bowl cornerback for the Chicago Bears, was placed on injured reserve and will miss at least four games. Johnson missed training camp, the preseason and the season opener because of a groin injury, returned in Week 2, then exited that game with another groin issue after breaking up a pass. The team indicated Johnson is dealing with an additional injury and has sought further medical opinions. Surgery is reportedly on the table, and he is expected to miss significant time this season despite technical eligibility to return in Week 8. The Bears secondary is further affected by injuries to nickel corner Kyler Gordon. Second-year offensive lineman Kiran Amegadjie was also placed on injured reserve.
