Dominic Canzone's walk-off single in the 11th inning secured the Seattle Mariners a 4-3 victory over the Chicago White Sox, completing a series sweep. Canzone, recalled from Triple-A, remarked on his positive experiences and growth since returning to the major leagues. The Mariners improved their record to 63-53 and are now 1.5 games behind the Houston Astros in the AL West standings. Mariners starting pitcher Logan Gilbert allowed only one run while striking out six batters in five innings of work.
"I've just had a lot of help from a lot of great, different minds. So, it's just been awesome. From the hardships being down in Triple-A, trying to grind through it, to where we are now. ... When you start to do it more often, you start to get better at it."
Seattle improved to 63-53 - its first time being above .500 by double-digit games this season - and moved 1.5 games behind the Houston Astros for first place in the American League West.
