"The Tigers' loss of pitcher Ryan Cusick to the White Sox, only a few days after claiming him, highlights challenges in roster management."
"Ryan Cusick, despite his high draft pedigree and impressive size, continues to struggle with command and consistency at the Triple-A level."
The Detroit Tigers have lost pitcher Ryan Cusick to the Chicago White Sox, who claimed him off waivers and optioned him to Triple-A Charlotte. Cusick, only 25, was designated for assignment as the Tigers reinstated outfielder Parker Meadows. The right-hander was part of the Tigers’ organization for just a few days after being claimed from the Athletics but made only one appearance for Triple-A Toledo. Drafted first overall by the Braves in 2021, Cusick boasts an impressive fastball but has struggled with command throughout the season.
