Keurig Green Mountain, part of Keurig Dr Pepper, has settled a class action lawsuit for $950,000 concerning defects in specific coffee makers that allegedly lost power post-descaling. The lawsuit was filed in September 2022 and claimed that Keurig's K-Supreme range of machines failed after following company instructions. The settlement does not imply an admission of wrongdoing; however, it establishes a fund for customer compensation, allowing affected users to claim up to $250 if they lacked adequate remedy through warranty. Bed Bath & Beyond was initially involved but dismissed after declaring bankruptcy.
"Under the May 9 settlement agreement, Keurig does not admit wrongdoing, although it maintains that the claims against it have no merit and would have prevailed in court."
"Keurig Green Mountain agreed to create a $950,000 settlement fund to compensate affected customers, providing up to $250 for those who experienced power loss in their coffee makers."
