Tanzania’s coffee production is expected to reach 1.45 million 60-kilogram bags in the 2025/26 marketing year, an increase from 1.35 million in the prior year. This growth is attributed to favorable weather, enhanced farming techniques, and ongoing rehabilitation efforts, particularly in Robusta production within the Kagera region. Exports will also rise to 1.37 million bags, meeting heightened global demand, with the European Union being the leading market. Meanwhile, domestic coffee consumption is slightly increasing due to urbanization, even as tea remains more popular.
