The Cerebral Palsy Association of Odemira (APCO) has developed an occupational activities center in Quinta da Estrela, Odemira, with an L-shaped layout that emphasizes safety and privacy. The building's design harmoniously integrates with its environment, turning a previously chaotic hillside into an aesthetically pleasing space. The center features an inclusive single-level design, facilitating access for all users, while color-coded areas enhance user navigation. The landscape includes a new entrance road and public parking, contributing to an orderly urban environment that dialogues with nearby buildings.
The building has an "inclusive design" hence why it is built on a single level with no physical barriers between interior and exterior, promoting independence.
The geometrization of the outer space transformed chaos into harmony, highlighting the poetics arising from the contrast between order and controlled chaos.
