"A round bed in the center of this 968-square-foot Milan apartment seems to hang in the air, with only a beam of light as its base. It appears and disappears behind by a metal fabric folding door by Dooor (a company that acclaimed Italian designer Gio Ponti also worked with). Elsewhere in the room, historic design pieces and timeless antiques reflect the homeowner's passion; they run Antichità Moglia, a store specializing in antique doors."
"The 23bassi team was able to contribute somewhat to the design of the apartment during its construction, making adjustments to create an ideal space. "The floor plan of the home was unusual: narrow and long, but with large windows and lots of natural light. We took one corner that would be hard to use as a living area, in part because it also didn't connect with the kitchen, and we made that into the sleeping area,""
The Milan duplex measures 968 square feet, split into 484 square feet on the first level and 484 on the terrace level. A suspended round bed occupies a repurposed corner, screened by a circular metal fabric folding door by Dooor and lit by Artemide’s Alphabet of Light. The homeowner owns Antichità Moglia, a shop specializing in antique doors, reflected in the collection of historic design pieces and timeless antiques. The design mixes 1980s elements, works by modernist masters, and garden-inspired wallpaper. 23bassi collaborated during construction of the Arassociati penthouse to adapt the narrow, long floor plan and optimize natural light.
