A new survey indicates that more than 50% of American teens regularly use anthropomorphic AI companions such as Character.AI and Replika. The survey by Common Sense Media shows that approximately 31% of teens find these AI interactions as satisfying or more satisfying than conversations with real friends. Around 75% of teens have used AI companions, which are emotive AI tools with specific personas. About 46% see these bots as tools, while 33% use them for social interaction and emotional support.
