Two students from Campbell Union High School District completed the Mission College summer Certified Nursing Assistant program, enabling them to take the California state exam. Derartu Moti and Charlotte Riley Kao participated among ten students from the SVCTE center. The program required a total of 184 hours, including 60 hours of classroom instruction, 24 hours of lab work, and 100 hours of clinical training. Separately, the upcoming History Happy Hour at Ainsley House will feature Rob McDonnell discussing the Bernal-Gulnac-Joice Ranch, its historical significance, and conservation efforts.
The summer program is only open to high school juniors and combines 60 hours of classroom instruction, 24 hours of lab time and 100 hours of clinical training.
Derartu Moti from Del Mar High School and Charlotte Riley Kao from Leigh High School are both now eligible to take the California state exam to become a CNA.
The next History Happy Hour at Campbell's Ainsley House will delve into the story of one of Santa Clara County's most significant heritage sites.
McDonnell will explore the ranch's transformation through generations of the Bernal, Gulnac and Joice families and how it became a living heritage site within Santa Teresa County Park.
