St. Athanasius School celebrates 'World of Music'
"As part of Catholic Schools Week, the student body on Tuesday, Jan. 27 celebrated The World of Music in a diocese known for its wide range of ethnic cultures. Students from pre-K through eighth grade sang, danced and played tambourines and maracas, sharing music from different countries representing the school's cultural diversity. A pre-K class presented a Chinese dragon dance, a second-grade class honored Italy with the Tarantella, and a fifth-grade class honored Ireland with "An Irish Lullaby.""
"St. Athanasius also presented its Culture and Heritage family engagement night, along with a quiz show, "Do You Know More than Father Bruno?" Some of the questions were: Who was the first non-Italian Pope after 1523? What does St. Peter hold in paintings and sculptures? What Nobel Peace Prize-winning saint helped the people of India? The winner was 7th-grader Kevin Pastuizaca Flores."
