Antioch is renovating three major parks to enhance neighborhood amenities and revitalize aging facilities. Contra Loma Estates Park received a $2.95 million Proposition 68 grant to add a dog park, restrooms, an outdoor gym, shaded picnic and barbecue areas, a walking and jogging pathway, a climbing feature, and improved lighting and fencing for the basketball court. Final touches are underway and a grand opening will be scheduled. Marchetti Park’s five-acre overhaul, costing about $1.5 million, will replace playground equipment, upgrade restrooms, and rehabilitate fields and courts, aided by $178,000 from Prop 68. Jacobsen Park will have its basketball court revamped, shade structures improved, playground equipment replaced, and irrigation upgraded.
