British Gas will run PeakSave for Business from 17 September to 22 October, every Wednesday, offering participating SMEs 50% off electricity between 11am and 4pm. The initiative incentivises businesses to shift energy use to lower-demand periods or when renewable generation is higher, cutting costs and supporting decarbonisation. Nearly 60,000 eligible businesses with smart meters have been invited to join the six-week trial. Participating SMEs have collectively saved £236,000 so far this year, up from £57,000 in 2024. Previous participants reported the scheme was straightforward to register, easy to understand and delivered tangible savings.
