Qvantum Defies Industry Slump: Heat Pump Maker Announces Partnership with 1KOMMA5 and Secures 19M in Funding
"What's so incredible for us is that we succeeded at scale. We secured orders in multiple European cities, and the pumps started being installed, including in London,"
"Heat pumps will play an increasingly central role in the future energy system, not just as sources of heat, but as flexible assets that can support the electricity grid. This partnership allows us to connect all kinds of heat pumps into our virtual power plant - lowering energy costs for homeowners and taking pressure off the grid,"
Qvantum, a Skåne-based modular heat pump platform headquartered in Åstorp, raised €19 million (SEK 220 million) largely from existing investors including Thomas von Koch and the IMAS Foundation. The company secured orders across multiple European cities with installations underway, including in London. Qvantum partnered with German climatetech 1KOMMA5° to integrate its next-generation heat pumps with the Heartbeat AI platform. The integrated system dynamically coordinates heating, solar generation, battery storage, and EV charging to respond to electricity prices, grid signals, and renewable availability. The collaboration aims to lower homeowners' energy costs and strengthen grid stability amid high national heat pump adoption.
